Brazil’s Best in 2013

Fiat, Ogilvy and YouTube among others win Caboré, the top award of Brazilian advertising

Brazil’s Best in 2013

The World Advertising Day is celebrated on Wednesday, December 4, also one of the most anticipated dates in the Brazilian advertising industry’s calendar. That is when the Caboré Award, the most coveted in the Brazilian ad market, is handed out. Fiat, Ogilvy and YouTube were some of the winners in the 34th edition of the award, given during a ceremony in São Paulo attended by Brazil’s top advertising professionals.

Created by Meio & Mensagem in 1980, Caboré (the owl species that the trophy is shaped like) is considered the top award of Brazilian advertising. The award honors the professionals and marketers that contributed most to the development of the communications industry in Brazil. The winners are selected by an online vote open to Meio & Mensagem’s subscribers. The whole process is audited by PricewaterhouseCoopers to ensure that it is conducted fairly and information is kept confidential.
